This translation consists of a letter written by Shaykh Junayd to Shams al-Dīn Ibn Shammā during his stay in Khalab. The letter is included in Sibt Ibn al-Ajamī’s Kunūz ez-Zaheb fi Târîhi Halab. Shaykh Junayd married the sister of Shaykh Muhammad bin Idris Ardabilī and divorced her due to disagreement. Sibt Ibn al-’Ajamī witnessed the activities of Shaykh Junayd during his stay in Halab. He recorded all the events he saw in detail in his work Kunūz ez-Zaheb. This letter, which explains the period of Sheikh Junayd’s stay in and around Halab, provides a clue about how the content of his activities was seen. According to the content of the letter, Shams al-Dīn Ibn Shammā’ was accused of being a Musha’sha’i and Shaykh Junayd’s relationship with the Musha’sha’i was questioned.
