Abstract

This study deals with the characteristics of the lithographed copy of Nasreddin al-Hanafi bin Amir Muzaffar al-Bukhari’s Tuhfetü’z-Zâirîn. Tuhfetü’z-Zâirîn was completed in 1318/1906 and published as a lithograph in Bukhara in 1328/1910. The manuscript copy of Tuhfetü’z-Zâirîn is in the Institute of Oriental Studies of the Academy of Sciences of Uzbekistan Abu Reyhan Biruni. The work deals with the places and graves of Bukhara. It includes scholars, sheikhs, mosques, masjids, lodges and khankahs in Bukhara. It includes the scholars, sheikhs, mosques, masjids, lodges and khankahs in Bukhara. Tuhfetü’z-Zâirîn is an important source for the history, culture and architectural sites of Bukhara. Information about the work is found in library catalogues, albeit briefly. Some of these sources give incomplete and incorrect information. No independent study has been conducted on Tuhfetü’z-Zâirîn. However, there are sources that make use of the work. In this study, information about Nasreddin al-Hanafi bin Amir Muzaffar al-Bukhari and his work Tuhfetü’z-Zâirîn is given and the missing and incorrect information in the literature is pointed out and completed. Before the names of the places of visitation in Bukhara are given, the etiquette of visitation and the things to be fulfilled during the visit are explained. Especially the prayers and suras to be recited during the visits are given. The sects, Naqshbandiyya, Kübreviyya, Qadiriyya, Suhrawardiyya, Cishtiyya, Yeseviyya and the subject of dhikr are presented in the center of Naqshbandiyya. Zikri jahri and its realities and the practices of other sects are included. Seyyid Ata, the caliph of Ahmed Yesevi from Yeseviye, is mentioned.
