Abstract

This text is among the first of the Ahmet Yesevi studies. It is among the first sources of Ahmet Yassawi and Yassawism studies. In particular, his observations on the masjid at the location of Hazret Sultan's tomb and the communities gathered in the masjid are noteworthy. N. S. Lykoşin traveled to Turkestan and noted the tomb, the masjid and the activities organized there. He gave extensive coverage to the congregation coming to the masjid, first chanting the dhikr and then organizing a meal called halim. He also mentions the grave of Abilay Khan among the graves around the masjid. While talking about the large cauldron in the masjid, he gives the writing, embroidery and handles on it as a basis for his interviews and observations.
