In the work titled “Damga mı, Tamga mı, Tümce mi? (Boy Damgaları Listesini Farklı Bir Gözle Okuma Önerisi)” [Is It a Stamp, a Tamga, or a Sentence? (A Proposal for Reading the List of Tribe Stamps with a Different Eye)] written by Vatan Özgül and published in 2023, it is revealed that the list of Oghuz Tribes Stamps actually points to a much different context than previously claimed. It is concluded that the signs in Reşideddin Fazlullah’s work, which are thought to be Oghuz Tribe Stamps, are actually Proto-Turkic/Gok Turk stamps (Old Turkic Script, Turkic Runes). It is revealed that the stamps in question were partially corrupted during the possible copying process or due to the author and/or copyists not being familiar with the stamp/tamga writing system and that a sentence-motto is written from top to bottom in that list, and relevant reading suggestion are presented.
